Day 18

Day 18 of 1% Better.

Today, I learned the fundamentals of n8n.

Here's the simplest way I understand it:

1. What is n8n?
A visual workflow automation tool that connects apps, APIs, databases, and AI models on one canvas.

2. Every workflow follows the same pattern.
Trigger → [Nodes with inputs/outputs visible] → Final action (and optionally error handling / evaluations for AI)
- A trigger starts the workflow.
- Each node does one job.
- The final node delivers the result.

3. Workflows can start in different ways.
- Webhook
- Form submission
- Scheduled time
- New email or app event

4. Different nodes have different responsibilities.
Some nodes:
- Run code
- Call APIs
- Read or write data
- Use AI models
- Connect apps like Slack or Google Sheets

5. One example AI workflow:
Webhook → Extract Data → AI Model → Google Sheets → Slack

6. Why does n8n stand out?
It combines visual workflows with the flexibility to write code whenever you need more control.
