Day 27

Picture from the day 27 LinkedIn post

Elon Musk’s 5-step design process.

The main idea is simple:

Don’t try to automate or optimise everything first.

First, make sure the work is actually needed.

Here are the 5 steps:

1. Make requirements less dumb
- Question the requirement basically question the question.

2. Delete the parts/process step
- Remove things added just in case.

3. Optimize
- Do not spend time improving something unnecessary.

4. Accelerate the cycle time
- Move faster only after you are working on the right thing.

5. Automate
- Automation is useful but only after the process is clear and simple.

What can I remove?
I want to use this in my own learning journey.

Before I add another AI tool, workflow, or template, I will ask:
- Is this solving a real problem?
- Can I do it with fewer steps?
- Am I making it better, or just making it more complicated?

Day 27 of 1% better.
